Creating Tickets from Gmail

SOLVE

Is it possible to create tickets directly from gmail? We have service reps who are individually emailed with questions and it would be great if they could easily create a ticket from Gmail instead of opening a new tab and copying/pasting. Most of their emails are not tickets though so we can not autodefault to create tickets.

I'm open to using another app if it can accomplish this.

Hi @JHaber6,

Currently it is not possible to create a ticket from Gmail.

Could they forward the email to a conversations inbox that creates a ticket?

I'd love to see this feature—you can already create a task or a deal from the Gmail extension.

It would be great for the Chrome extension to add this functionality. Tickets are displayed on the sidebar, but no option to create a new one.

Would the system associate the new ticket from the forwarded email with the correct contact?

Honestly, I do think that you would run into association challenges with the forwarding options. It's going to try and associate the conversation/ticket with the email domain that sent the email, in this case, the email address actually forwarding the email.

I tested this and it does work, it is an acceptable workaround and we'll be doing this if/until they add the ability to do with using the Gmail extension. Thank you Josh!

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and @Josh thanks for your great help!
That's exactly it!

I just wanted to share the solution from my colleague @jennysowyrda on this post "E-mail to create ticket" that gives you the steps to create tickets from the conversations inbox.

I hope this is useful!

Have a lovely day and a great weekend!

Best,
