Bot Action: Looping a conversation

SOLVE

I've hit a stumbling block whilst creating a bot in that I cannot have a question loop back around for itself. For example "Which questions do you have about this product?"

A - How much is the product?

B - How much will the product last?

C - How does the product work?

D - Something else

What I'd like is for somebody to ask A, B, or C, and then the question to loop back around and offer the same answers, and on a user hitting D, a new series of questions opens up.

Currently I'm hit by the boundary "Must collect user information" but there is no user information to collect, and I can't create the bot as I would like it to be created.

Is there a work around, or any plan to update this feature?

Hi @OliverJD

Forgive me if I'm getting the wrong end of the stick here, but it sounds similar to something we did recently. Here's a screencap:

Bots (1).png

The first action has no user input, but the second one does.

Does that help?

Hi @OliverJD

After you display the answer to questions A - C (I preusme these are scripted responses) have you tired adding a bot message action with a quick response along the lines of 'start over' and then linking that if/then branch back to the original questions?

Hey Phil,

Yeah, these are scripted responses.

No dice with linking back as I would need to collect user input to connect back to itself - and there is no input to be collected, so I'm stuck.

Looks like it would work, but still could be better, I think.

Hoping that the developers pick up on this tweak!

Thanks for the suggestion - I'll action this to see how it works in practise.
