Currently, contact create attribution reports can be filtered by contact create date, but not by interaction date, which is a data point that should exist in HubSpot. Filtering data by contact create date allows us to report on cohorts of contacts according to their create date, but sometimes, especially with longer customer journeys, this approach means assuming that all interactions that led to a contact creation happened within that same timeframe. But in many cases, a contact will have had interactions that have happened several months prior to the actual contact creation event. By allowing us to filter a report by interaction date, we could more accurately attribute efforts such as ad spend that occured in a given timeframe to interactions that resulted from these efforts in the same timeframe, rather than acting like all interactions leading to a contact creation happened within the same timeframe like the attributed contact creation events.
