Hubspot currently allows you to create "short links" through the hubs.ly domain or a custom domain connected to Bitly by using the tool configured at https://app.hubspot.com/social/{account_id}/settings/schedule and deployed at https://app.hubspot.com/settings/{account_id}/tracking-urls. Hubspot also allows you to track visits to blog posts, landing pages, website pages, and (new!) external website pages through the Campaigns tool, at https://app.hubspot.com/marketing/{account_id}/campaigns/views/all. But sometimes, you need to create and share a shortlink as part of a campaign, but which goes to a page which does not or can not serve the Hubspot tracking script (eg. Youtube videos, partner/3rd-party websites, etc.). If you use Bitly, traffic to these links can be tracked on your Bitly.com dashboard, but cannot be connected back to the campaign itself. IDEA: When a shortlink exists in the Hubspot "Tracking URLs" tool, Make it possible to connect that shortlink (regardless of the utm_campaign parameter) back to the Campaigns tool by "adding an asset." When a shortlink is connected to a Campaign (either by UTM param or by direct Campaigns tool linkage described above), but the shortlink destination does not have a compliant Hubspot tracking script, pass "click" data from that shortlink back to the Campaign reporting tool.
