What's one email metric you're working to improve?

Analysis starts with first accepting that perfection is not the goal. Emails might underperform, and that’s okay! When you’re doing consistent analysis, you can work toward improving and providing the most valuable experience for your contacts. Keeping this in mind, what's one email metric you'd like to improve (and why)?

Working towards improving the CTR and forward rate is important for an email campaign to be successful. Providing readers with a compelling cause to click through will assist boost the CTR and crafting shareable content, including discount coupons etc. help improve the forward rate. Forwards/shares are an excellent approach to increase word-of-mouth marketing by converting your subscribers into brand advocates.

CTR tells a complete story in my opinion. Obviously, without optimal deliverability the email would never be opened in the first place. However, good CTR means that email is doing its job properly and is actionable enough to lead to conversions.

But honestly, I would choose the Channel Metrics.

This metrics seems to give one a holistic analysis of the email marketing for the company. At a glance, this metric will tend to expose areas to improve on with keeping your email database clean.
