Focus on deals that are too long in a deal stage

PURPOSE & USE CASE
This pair of simple workflows facilitates the surfacing of deals that remain in a deal stage too long ensuring that messaging and reporting can be delivered to support your exception-based sales management system. (example report included)

While the example uses a single value for all deal stages, 'SET flag' workflow could be cloned and different durations applied for different deal stages.

HOW IT WORKS
This pair of workflows respectively update a custom property [Too long in deal stage] as deals 1) remain in a deal stage for longer than the permitted time [SET] and 2) move into a new deal stage [CLEAR] 

NOTES ON CONFIGURATION

Workflow 1: Too long in deal stage: SET flag
Enrollment criteria: Deal stage other than Closed Won/Lost remaining in

same deal stage for longer than 10 days - in this example
Allow Re-enrollment?: Yes
Goals: None
Settings: None
Actions configuration: Set 'Too long in deal stage' property to 'Y'
Custom properties: Yes - 'Too long in deal stage' [custom property]
Associated workflows: 

 

Workflow 2: Too long in deal stage: CLEAR flag
Enrollment criteria: Deal stage changes

Allow Re-enrollment?: Yes
