Hey guys! Happy to have found this group, I've already learned so much. I absolutely love my proffession and company, but I struggle with with pretty severe ADHD and a hectic personal schedule outside of work. I also don't have much expereince in creating a content strategy and sticking to it, which is the opportunity I have now and I hope to make the most out of it.

My goal is to help my company achieve growth through strategized content and successful marketing campaigns, but with lack of organization and experience in creating said strategy, and an inconsistent/unsustainable productivity schedule --it's been a challenge to say the least.

Any advice on best marketing, productivity, content strategy practices is welcome, especially from fellow adhd-ers!

Congrats on landing a great position! I don't have an exact best practice in creating a calendar because it can vary much from company to company, industry to industry, etc. but I do have some advice that may help in organizing things for you.

Personally speaking, I am a very visual person and for large key projects with lots of visibility, I would use a project management tool, something like Clickup or Asana, etc.. And then add to that a visual whiteboarding tool like Miro. Between that combination, I have been able to keep myself and teams organized through the years.

I usually start by aligning OKRs down from the top (as high up as that may be), drawing that out on a whiteboard and working my way down from there. As an example, do you have a target for achieving growth (ie: 500 MQLs)? Then figure out a few big rocks that could help move towards that goal, a webinar, larger white paper or case study, and then look to the demand or events part of the marketing org to figure out what might be going on in the industry or in general. The key is here is keeping to big rocks so you don't get overwhelmed because it's easy to do so and you may have other OKRs that you don't have as much contorl over in content (ie: supporting sales enablement strategies, powerpoint decks, etc.).

Hopefully this offers you a little bit of a place to start searching around your org to find the right pieces to help with your strategy creation.

Hi @bsharma9 really happy you're here! And how exciting about moving to Finland!

I spent a summer there, mostly in Helsinki, but I also traveled throughout the country from Turku, to Tampere, JyvΓ€skylΓ€, Munkkiniemi, and even all the way to Rovaniemi - it is such a beautiful country with so much to see (especially if you love architecture)...

Best of luck finding the perfect marketing job, there are so many amazing agencies in Finland that use HubSpot!

Hi @OMohammed1,

This is a great place to start: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/get-started

To learn about the tools interactively, these are good starting points:

https://academy.hubspot.com/courses/hubspot-marketing-software

https://academy.hubspot.com/courses/hubspot-sales-software

https://academy.hubspot.com/courses/hubspot-service-software

... depending on whether you want to learn about marketing, sales or service.

Best regards!

Welcome to the Community - introduce yourself!

I applied to over 70 internships this past spring for the summer. I had four interviews and made it to the second round process in all of them, even the fourth round in some. I need up not getting any offers. While some people stop after getting rejection after rejection, I decided to use this time and get certifications and create my own "internship" to learn. I've been taking courses on HubSpot and using what I am learning on my Instagram, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. Does anyone have advice they'd be willing to share on what else I should do to get in the digital marketing industry?

Thanks in advance!!

Thanks for the shoutout @karstenkoehler!

Hey @AlexisRiesberg I was in a similar position to you very recently. As Karsten said I wrote a blog going over my efforts but essentially my advice would be to use the Academy to get a base  (focus on Software/Hub Certs and Inbound courses first) while you keep an eye on the Community. I found the Community very helpful in helping me learn/problem-solve for products I didn't have access to (my first job only used Marketing Pro). As you contribute more you'll to only gain expertise in other Hubs/areas but also start to be recognized around the community and build up a profile.

I leveraged my community profile as a sort of portfolio to showcase my thought process to employers. And of course, we have wonderful moderators that try to keep people involved.

More generally I'd google the "T Shaped Marketer" framework to help structure your development.  It's pretty intuitive but made a big difference for me.

Welcome and feel free to reach out if you need anything.

Hey @ConnorSlivensky

Thanks for the insight! I understand the importance of the Community and will for sure continue to use it.

I also searched for the β€œT Shaped Marketer” and those ideas are exactly where my mind was thinking on where I want to really focus. I’m still in the process of figuring out what ones I feel most called to but these courses on HubSpot Academy will help with that for sure!

Thanks again for the information!

Hi @AlexisRiesberg,

Welcome to the community! Skilling up and completing certifications is a great way to boost your CV. The HubSpot Academy is offering tons of certifications which will sharpen your understanding of marketing but will also look great on your LinkedIn. Looking past HubSpot, you can also consider specializing. For example, if you interested in paid advertising, you could look at Google Ads certifications and LinkedIn Marketing Labs training. If you could see yourself code, Codecademy will make yourself a valued resource if you can bring frontend or backend development to the table.

As generic as this blog post sounds, it also offers some great tips: 10 Tips to Help You Land Your First Marketing Job

@ConnorSlivensky recently published a blog post on how his activity in the HubSpot community landed him a job, you might find that read interesting.

Hope this helps, good luck!

Thanks so much @karstenkoehler for all the great advice!

Those links will definitely help me in my journey! I’ve considered going in depth on some certifications, but wanted to take some of HubSpot’a courses to see where I feel most called.

Thanks again for all the great insight!
