The HubSpot community is mainly dedicated to all things related to HubSpot products. However, if you're looking to connect with professionals from other areas, like founders, marketers, and more, the best place to go is connect.com. There, you’ll find events for these groups and plenty of opportunities to network with people in your field.

We can't say this enough, but we are thrilled that you have joined this space, and we look forward to seeing you in the forums.

Thanks,

Hello, my name is Wesley! I am currently a Revenue Operations Solutions Architect at Service Express. My company offers services and products to those within the IT industry. I am very interested in gaining more insight into the TabCRM and Tableau area. I want to potentially leverage the tool to do models around forecasting and other insights. I listen to various video series and podcasts but my favorites are Ted Talks and anything by Simon Sinek. I am hoping to gain other helpful insights that sit in this community and connect with others in the RevOps space.

Hey guys! 😎

I'm 25 years old and hold a degree in Media, Communication, and Production. My professional journey includes serving as a Marketing Executive at an accountancy firm and later transitioning to the role of an Engagement Officer for the NHS, where my focus remained strongly on the marketing aspects. Following that, I briefly worked at a biomedical company as a Digital Marketing Executive. Currently, I am employed as a Digital Marketing Exec at a company specialising in the manufacturing and distribution of epoxy, primarily in the Marine sector. My goal is to accumulate more experience and steadily progress towards a senior marketing position.

I'm curious to learn about everyone else's experiences and backgrounds. Any insights into your professional journeys?

Additionally, I'm seeking recommendations for valuable courses and advice on maximizing career advancement opportunities. Your input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Welcome @LBlackshaw and thanks for the mention @PamCotton, happy to offer some insights and guidance.

Since you are still very early in your career, I would focus on investing in yourself and learning as much as you possibly can from each role.

As @Nikhil_Kumar mentioned, certifications from HubSpot Academy are very beneficial for getting exposure to new ideas and helping to grow your career.

My suggestion would be to create an action item for something outside of your job description that you can do to help your current company/team as a result of what you learned during the certification.

One way I've helped advance my career is not limiting myself to contributing based on what's required, but finding opportunties that can support others - even something small, like identifying an opportunity for the sales team to remove friction from their calling process, or researching the software in your tech stack to see if there are better options within HubSpot or alternatives that are more cost effective, integrate better, etc.

Being curious and identifying potential opportunities is a great way to show initiative to advance your career.

Also, when you wrap a major project, reach out to team members and ask for a recommendation on LinkedIn - it's better to ask while the project is fresh than to wait until you're ready to leave or have already left.

Hope this helps, all the best in your journey ahead!

Thank you so much @PamCotton for the mention.

Hi @LBlackshaw,

Welcome to the community. I've worked as a digital marketing team lead for a marketing company and currently, I'm working as a Senior SEO Analyst. To understand the marketing world concept, I recommend you first go through all the Hubspot Academy Courses. It will give you an overview of how marketing and sales go simultaneously. Hubspot certifications are globally accepted. After that, you can apply for the companies that are hiring for Hubspot CRM administrators. I've also completed 10 certifications from Hubspot Academy and working on many more to come. I hope this helps you.

Feel free to ask any questions.

Thanks,
Nikhil

  • Hello everyone, my name is Praise from Nigeria. I am a digital marketer who recently finished the hubspot inbound marketing certification. Currently, I am looking to pivot into Product management/marketing. I am actively seeking internship opportunities or an entry level position to transition, learn and grow in this field. I would also love a mentor to help guide my learning process. I have a product development background, so I am well aware of a product life cycle and some product requirements. This is my email and LinkedIn, if you do need to reach out to me regarding any of the listed opportunities or just point me in the right direction.

Hey guys! Happy to have found this group, I've already learned so much. I absolutely love my proffession and company, but I struggle with with pretty severe ADHD and a hectic personal schedule outside of work. I also don't have much expereince in creating a content strategy and sticking to it, which is the opportunity I have now and I hope to make the most out of it.

My goal is to help my company achieve growth through strategized content and successful marketing campaigns, but with lack of organization and experience in creating said strategy, and an inconsistent/unsustainable productivity schedule --it's been a challenge to say the least.

Any advice on best marketing, productivity, content strategy practices is welcome, especially from fellow adhd-ers!

Congrats on landing a great position! I don't have an exact best practice in creating a calendar because it can vary much from company to company, industry to industry, etc. but I do have some advice that may help in organizing things for you.

Personally speaking, I am a very visual person and for large key projects with lots of visibility, I would use a project management tool, something like Clickup or Asana, etc.. And then add to that a visual whiteboarding tool like Miro. Between that combination, I have been able to keep myself and teams organized through the years.

I usually start by aligning OKRs down from the top (as high up as that may be), drawing that out on a whiteboard and working my way down from there. As an example, do you have a target for achieving growth (ie: 500 MQLs)? Then figure out a few big rocks that could help move towards that goal, a webinar, larger white paper or case study, and then look to the demand or events part of the marketing org to figure out what might be going on in the industry or in general. The key is here is keeping to big rocks so you don't get overwhelmed because it's easy to do so and you may have other OKRs that you don't have as much contorl over in content (ie: supporting sales enablement strategies, powerpoint decks, etc.).

Hopefully this offers you a little bit of a place to start searching around your org to find the right pieces to help with your strategy creation.
