A video can be an excellent tool for communication and promotion depending on how effective and engaging its content is. With this in mind, we’d love to hear your thoughts on what makes a video engaging. Please reply to this post and answer the below questions:

  • What was the last marketing video you remember watching and what made it memorable?
  • Did the video help you take action? If so, what was it?

I saw the video of a local tax consultant in Israel. It gave me ideas to film the videos for my consultancy services.

What was the last marketing video you remember seeing and what made it memorable? The video that comes to my memory is that of the Olympic gymnast Alexa Moreno, which appears in a commercial for the Toyota brand. Which mentions that you never stop chasing your dreams and doing what you like, she was a girl who was made fun of for her completeness and for the discipline she had decided to do. but that was not an impediment to reach the Olympic games.

We never have to give up on our dreams, much less let someone come with their comments to try to make us dissipate.

Influencers are now experts on this. What I've seen here on my country, all influencers try to act with daily experiences or also make funny videos to engage more with people, so at the moment to make paid ads or collaborations all the most of the audience will use the products they share on the stories or a service, this is very helpful.

The most recent marketing video I viewed was about a local streaming service that promotes local movies and dramas. They offered a low-cost subscription in exchange for supporting local artists. I ended up buying a membership since I know the extreme feeling of finding and hustling for a job especially in the midst of the pandemic.

I watched a video By Billie Gene is Marketing. He was advertising his online course on Marketing. His videos are beyond boring. In fact they are OUTRAGEOUS. They are funny and totally go against the grain with his approach. He  does his own videos and strategicallly plans them out. Most times his videos are just him with a cellphone, but other times he has his staff helping.

He stresses in his classes that its ok to be yourself and let your personality come through. It allows for a connection to be made with the consumer. It works because i did perchase from him. I think it was his approach that prompted me to listen in more on what he was offering.

The last marketing video I watched on Instagram was about the skincare beauty product, Averraglow, during the July 4th, 2021 sale. On regular days, the company offers a product, No. 3 Clear Skin Elixir, for acne treatment for 49 dollars plus tax and shipping fee. However, on July 4th, 2021, the video showed that the brand offered the Elixir product for first-time customers 8 dollars without tax and free shipping. The video advertisement intrigued me to sign up and order a product with a discount code. I am using this product these days, the product is working fine, and I look forward to posting a review after 60 days of the product application. The only thing that made the video a good experience is the discount offers for the new customers.

Videos by a copywriter selling copywriting courses. She uses engaging graphics and humour to educate the viewer. The information is provided in digestible sound bites. She speaks with authority but also appears to be approachable.

I think that the best marketing video i have ever seen is Invictus, for Paco Rabanne. The music, the lights, the meaning, the comparison between the human and gods.... It is for me memorable.

But if i have to choose one video more sentimental. It's about a baby orangutan and a girl. The orangutan sneaks into the girl's house because he no longer has it, the consumption of palm oil was overexploiting the animal's home. I was already a faithful defender of olive oil because it is healthier than palm oil, but from that day on I make sure that the foods I eat do not contain that type of oil.

It's a 1-year look-back video of a software company. It's very interesting to apply the trend in that country to make videos.

Admittedly, I RARELY watch video.  Maybe sometimes I will watch at the "attract" phase, clips of dance companies or gym facilities/yoga studios posting a couple combos or exercises.

I'll work on that...

Something from &Collar. Their videos are funny, quick, and have startling imagery like a cup of punch getting spilled on a dress shirt and just running right off.
