A video can be an excellent tool for communication and promotion depending on how effective and engaging its content is. With this in mind, we’d love to hear your thoughts on what makes a video engaging. Please reply to this post and answer the below questions:

  • What was the last marketing video you remember watching and what made it memorable?
  • Did the video help you take action? If so, what was it?

The last video that I saw was on YouTube by Bigbasket, quick delivery e-commerce app. The thing that was special about it is the ad was done by 2 Bollywood celebrities who are sisters like real sisters and like they are pretty funny , witty that's specialty interested  and related to whatever advertising. I did placed an order after that tho it was needed

I don’t remember the last one, but my personal favorites are Duolingo videos and some car brand videos. One car ad really stayed with me — it showed a vehicle stripped of mirrors, windshields, and indicators. (I can't remember the details) Only at the end did they explain that all those safety features were invented by women, and without them, that car would offer no safety protections. It was a powerful testament to how women shaped automotive safety.

The last marketing video I watched was a TedTalk by a  man named Simon Sinek. What made the video memorable was that he was able to come up with captivating annecdotes and a generalization that applied to me. His speech was specfic, focused, and provided a specfic solution.

The last video marketing strategy that i really found memorable was an e-book ad from instagram, they explained what they were offering in a coherent manner in the span of sixty seconds. What i found really excited enough to purchase it were the visuals they used because design and visuals make it more appealing for someone who was having second thoughts and the comments were very positive. I even took their short webinar which was very insightful.

- A video on Instagram from a fine jewelry brand on engagement rings, but what made it memorable was that they asked you to guess the carat weight

- I did not take action however, it did prompt me to look at the comments because of the fun guessing element of the video

The last marketing video I remember seeing was from Jaguar, the luxury car manufacturer. I remember it because it was so terrible. It made me despise a car company I had always respected because it didn't even show the iconic image of a Jaguar vehicle. It just followed a group of obnoxiously hyper-woke models through a commercial that was as insulting as it was annoying. The video made me instantly decide that I would never buy a Jaguar vehicle under any circumstances.

the last marketing video I remember watching was a short explainer video from a tech company about their new project management app. What made it memorable was how clear and visually engaging it was , they used simple animations to show exactly how the app solves common pain points without overwhelming me with jargon. Yes, the video did help me take action! After watching, I signed up for their free trial to test it out myself because it made the benefits feel tangible and easy to understand.

I am a member of the Entrepreneurship Cell at my college, and we organise two events annually: IdeateX and Endeavour, both of which aim to promote and instill the spirit of entrepreneurship among young minds. The last marketing videos I remember watching were the ones we created while promoting our sub-events for Endeavour, and yes, they had a great impact on our peers.

The videos combined the basic ideas of a particular sub-event, along with trending captions, songs, and video styles, which not only helped boost outreach but also brought in more conversions, i.e., students buying our events, than what we were able to bring in through setting up desks, banners, and posters and class announcements.

I watch a lot of YouTube creators who offer digital services and products. They stand out as they offer practical and actionable insights on a regular basis that compliment their paid offerings. By offering bitesize helpful nuggets of information, they compel their audience to want to learn more and tune in regularly. Over time, their audience becomes very loyal and more likely to convert to a paid offering.

The last marketing video I remember watching was the Maggi “2-Minute Nostalgia” ad. It wasn’t just about noodles — it was about memories, home, and comfort. The ad showed different people in different life stages ,a student in a hostel, a mom making Maggi for her kid, and even a son coming home late at night and quietly cooking Maggi.

What made it memorable was the emotional connection. It reminded me of how Maggi isn’t just food  it’s a part of our childhood, friendship, and family. The soft background music, the warm lighting, and the simple dialogues really made it feel personal. It was less of an ad, more like a short film that made me smile and say, “Yes, that’s me too.”

The last marketing video I remember watching was the pre-order trailer for Death Stranding.

What made it so memorable was its cinematic feel, the haunting visuals, the eerie soundtrack, and the mysterious storyline immediately grabbed my attention. It didn’t explain everything, but gave just enough to spark curiosity. The use of real actors like Norman Reedus and the emotional tone made it feel more like a movie than a traditional game trailer.

The video didn’t push me to pre-order right away, but it made me consider it. Just knowing you could pre-order after watching felt like an open invitation to be part of something big, and that impression stayed with me.

The last marketing video that I watched was made by my boss at work to send out for an emailing list. While it was clear and concise, the quality was low and it didnt speak to the reader as much as it could have. Another thing that could be fixed was that all the videos were put on youtube instead of  our actual webiste where people go. They are outdated so I am going to try and change that after watching HubSpot videos!

The last marketing video i remember watching was a Coca-Cola holiday commercial that shoed families coming together and sharing a Cola e around the holidays. It was memorable because of the emoational story telling, upbeat music, and heartwarming visuals that really captured the feeling of the season.

The video did not necessarily make me want to purchase the product but it reinforced my postitive perception of the brand and reminded me to grab a Cola  for a family gathering.

The last marketing video I remember watching was a Grammarly ad that showed how their tool improved someone’s writing in real time—emails, social posts, even resumes. What made it memorable was how relatable it was. The storytelling felt natural, and the visuals clearly showed how the product worked without being too salesy. It did inspire action. I went back and double-checked if I was using all the available Grammarly features.

Last video I saw was a guy showing feeds of 3 big brands without any image of their products, that makes me think about what I'm doing with my social media feeds, he made this video memorable by talk about emotional sales and connecting to your audience is better than just sale.

The last marketing video I remember watching was about Recommended Marketing Course. It was made by an influencer with deep experience in Marketing Field. The video was short, clean and meaningful which attracted me to choose Huspot as a platform to learn Marketing.
