Videos can sometimes be the factor that leaves a memorable impression to set a webpage apart from others. However, this also comes down to having the RIGHT video on your page that doesn’t overstimulate or distract from the overall goal. this may not be 100% relevant to the question but i happen to think its fairly cool when a landing page has video playing as the background graphic, but only when its not in-your-face. subtlety and slickness impresses.

Hi! The last website I visited had a video. I don´t think the video was engaging. It was a selling video but I would rather see a video that explained the service they offer. The recent video they are using is more suitable for marketing purposes, for example in Social Media.

I think video is powerful because it gives the watcher a sence of connection and intimacy with the person or person's they watching. I cant remember the last video I watched so just giving my thoughts on how videos affects us:)
