Workflow to create a lead

We've been using the prospecting workspace since it got out, and I see it catching up on what was missing in first place, so that's good.

We are starting to heavily use it, but still, some things are missing such as the ability to trigger the creation of lead by a workflow.

Here is a concrete example, whenever a form is filled in on our website, I'd like to create a lead automatically for a given user (based on some rules we apply).

Today I can't, I have to create a task for someone to create the lead manually, that's a shame

Hi @TSansico

What subscription level do you have?

It is certainly possible to create new leads via workflows - you simply need to create a new record and select the lead object.

Can you share what you have set up so far?

In a contact-based workflow, click the + sign and find the workflow action "Create record", from the dropdown you can then select the lead object and specify any fields you'd like to populate upon creation.

Hope this helps!

Hi, I don't have this option. Which is a bit strange to me. Based on a new lead property to be yes/no I want to create a new lead for another sales person. But I can only create contacts or deals. No leads...

I believe you have to have either a Contact or Company based trigger for you to get the option to create a Lead record.
