Video Autoplay in Email

Hello,

I can't seem to figure out how to make my video autoplay once the email is opened, this is for Hubspot Email.

Thanks

Video Autoplay in Email

Embedding video in your emails that play within the body of the email can be achieved with some disclaimers, @PamCotton wrote that several email clients are not compatible with adding video to email, that's correct in terms of Gmail, but pretty much all others, bar older versions of MSOutlook, do allow the video to play within the email. The technologies that enable this autoplaying of video within the body of the email usually create a GIF vesion of your video which is served to Gmail recipients. This tutorial walks you through how to add video to your email to create the embed code and then add to your HubSpot template.

A good solution that I have found for this, is to format my videos as GIF files, and then upload them through the Image component.

I'm having the same issue. I still don't understand why major email clients can't handle imbedded video. 🤔

Video Autoplay in Email

Hello @DYeboa!

Currently, videos will not be able to play within the email because major email clients including Gmail, Yahoo, and Outlook don't support embedded videos; hence attaching a video to play within the email will likely not load and potentially be sent to recipients' spam folders. Here's a HubSpot blog post for your reference. The best practice, across email platforms, is to use a video module but redirect to a page to play the video.

Kindly,

Pam
