Update Lifecycle stage based on SF opportunity stage

I want to update the lifecycle stage of contact to the 'opportunity' stage when the opportunity reaches stage 1 i.e. qualifying stage in Salesforce.

Is the attached image the correct way to implement the workflow or Am I missing something?Screenshot 2023-09-27 at 5.20.41 PM.png

So the answer is yes with a but. Lifecycle stages are a different type of property in that they are designed as a flow so there are implications for whether you just choose to override the value vs. clear the property and then set the value. There are notes about this in detail here ( https://knowledge.hubspot.com/contacts/use-lifecycle-stages ).

So for a net new inbound lead, your flow should be fine, but what you need to consider is the flow and what happens if someone progresses past this stage (ie: customer) and comes back into the pipeline again to upsell cross-sell, or if they were lost in the past and are now coming back in again and determining what values you want to keep or how you are going to report on that.

+1 for @Ben_M here, @rulpats. Those folks coming back into the process is the sticking point. Here's something that may help: HubSpot's new "leads" function

Agreed with Ben & adding to Dan > if you're using Salesforce, I wouldn't recommend the Leads Function. Here's why.

Another note @rulpats  - if you want the Lifecycle Stage to be set to Opportunity specifically when this stage is reached - be sure to turn off the automation for Lifecycle Stage to automatically be set when an Deal is created
