My boss wants to see a forecast of our future revenue, but the problem is our business is not subscription based. The amount changes from month to month and it is difficult to determine what the next month's revenue will look like. He is not satisfied with the pipeline forecast from sales analytics and he wants something more precise. Please does anybody have any experience with something similar, and if yes, what do you suggest?

Have you considered building out a dataset to enable your revenue reporting? I have used datasets to enable recognised revenue reporting, looking to line item terms, dates and amounts to assign the correct amount of revenue into the correct month. Is this a similar use case to what you are trying to acheive?
