We have a set of line item that are based off hours per month (we use the quantity field to calculate this price) but what I'm wondering is their a field that we could have labelled like "Support Period" that would automaticly set the line item term?
I don't know if you've tried this or not but Line Items Editor could be your solution to this problem. You can customize the price and term information for the line items in the line items editor. You can also set the same or similar term to all the line items with "Edit Global Terms". Here is an article for your reference.
