Set Billing Date for Recurring Payments/Subscriptions

Ann-JMG
Member

I'm hoping someone can help me. I created a subscription and chose a custom billing date, for example 5/15/2024. That means I want the client to get charged today, then on the 15th of every month. But that's not what's happening. The client is getting billed monthly, 30 days from the time they paid the first bill. How can I fix this? (I'm using Stripe as a payment processor, if that makes a difference)

@Ann-JMG I can confirm the same experience. I don't see a way in HubSpot subscriptions to set the date ahead of time. Monthly is simply every 30 days.

I'd suggest leaving a request in the Community Ideas forum here. HubSpot product folks do monitor those.

Hi @OliviaReed3, I hope that you are well!

To start with and to help @Ann-JMG, I'd like to share an article that has been published after their original question that might help: "Schedule recurring payments to start in the future".

Now, regarding the third-party integration that you mentioned, could you please give additional details/information on how, and which steps, @Ann-JMG would need to take to achieve this via Invoicera, please?

Also, if you have screenshots (without confidential/sensitive information) or a link to the HubSpot Marketplace it would be great!

Thanks a lot and have a great day!

To set a specific billing date like the 15th of each month using a recurring billing platform, you’ll need more control over billing cycles than what Stripe's default setup offers. Platforms like Invoicera let you customize exact billing dates for subscriptions, ensuring clients are charged consistently on your preferred schedule—no more 30-day drift.

Hi @Ann-JMG,

Great question, thanks for asking the Community!

First, I'd like to share these resources that might help you:

- Collect recurring payments with subscriptions
- Schedule recurring payments to start in the future
- Edit subscriptions billed in HubSpot

I also wanted to invite a couple of subject matter experts and Community Members to this conversation: Hi @MSunlake, @granthanson, @BSoulek, @hroberts, @danmoyle, @Jnix284 and @Alex_Elborn do you have suggestions to help @Ann-JMG, please?

If anybody else has anything to add and/or share, please feel free to join in the conversation 🙂

Thank you very much and have a fantastic day!

Best,
Bérangère

Thank you for the helpful suggestions. It looks like I'd have to manually edit the subscription at least 3 days after the first payment? I was hoping I didn't have to do that.
