Send a marketing email in a workflow

SOLVE

Hi there,

Wondering if someone could help with my issue.

We collect certain bits of information during the inbound form submission.

On a certain question, there is a multitude of answers that they can give. What I did was create a separate email for each of those answers. My problem is that some people give multiple answers which mean they will trigger more than one email at the same point though I only want to send one.

Is it best to restrict the inbound form to one answer only? Or is there something else that I am not thinking about in the branches of the workflow

Thanks

Is there a way that they could only receive one email

Hi @liamkelman,

Multiple checkboxes definitely pose a challenge when it comes to defining follow-ups for all possible combinations. It's not impossible but it creates a lot of complexity and often raises the question of the expected results justify this complexity.

In other words, what you're finding is valid and there isn't an easy way out. If possible, you should look at your form field with a fresh pair of eyes and question whether you can reframe it as a dropdown / radio select (one choice) or, if multiple options are a must, whether you can shorten the list (making catering to all potential combinations easier).

Let me know if you have any follow-up questions!
