Seeking Advice: Topics to dive into for Hubspot training
SOLVE
I'm part of a very small marketing team, and we're transitioning our email, website, and CRM to HubSpot. We have 5 training hours scheduled with the agency that helped us set everything up. This will be my first time using HubSpot, though I’m experienced with other platforms, particularly Marketing Cloud. Over the past few months, I’ve watched a lot of HubSpot Academy videos, so I'm familiar with the basics. I’d love some input on key topics that would be most useful to focus on in our training to make the most of our time.
One thing to note is that we won’t be using the sales or customer portals, as we pass qualified leads to partners for their sales teams to follow up.
If you have the basics down (HubSpot Marketing Software Certification and – for context – HubSpot Sales Software Certification), I'd recommend focusing on the following for more personalized training:
Default configurations (each agency has their own set of things they'd like to set up, for me this would include a country dropdown vs single-line text, a standardized salutation field etc)
Best practices and pitfalls of email authentication, sender reputation, email health and deliverability
Data privacy best practices, management of subscription types, email confirmation process (if applicable)
Data quality best practices
General portal hygiene (naming convention, filtered views, folders)
On top of that, the training should of course reference your exact needs and requirements for the upcoming months and years. The above items are typically associated / adjacent to requirements of new HubSpot users. However, if you have a specific milestone or campaign you're working towards, the training should in my opinion reflect that.
Hope this helps!
