Restoring deleted contacts double counts marketing contacts

Hello

I hope someone may be able to help. I have searched for this issue but it seems I am alone in running into a problem with restoring contacts that were deleted when set as marketing contacts.

I purchased a 1,000 marketing starter package. I imported 700 contacts and set them as marketing. I then decided I wanted to run a new import as the data wasn't as clean as I wanted. I deleted the 700 records and ran a new import, at which point the system advised this would take me over the 1,000 limit.

I surmised that the deleted records were still being counted as marketing contacts so I decided to restore them instead.

When I tried to run the restore, the system advised this would take me over the 1,000 limit. So the deleted contacts seem to be counted twice as marketing contacts and I am stuck until the count ticks over at the beginning of the month.

I have contacted tech support, have been passed to Billing and to Contracts but no-one seems to understand my dilemma or be able to help.

I am hoping someone here might be able to shine some light on how I might resolve this?

Thank you in advance!

Sarah

Hi there

Because the contacts are still marked as Marketing, I'm not able to restore them as this will take me over the 1,000 tier limit. I can't change the status of the records without restoring them first. So it's Catch 22...!

Hi @SWard15 ,

Is HubSpot preventing you from restoring the new contacts? Or is it just the tagging of the marketing contact status you're having issues with?

Out of interest, have you tried setting the contacts as non-marketing? If a contact was already set as marketing in a given month, you can update their status to non-marketing the same month, but it won’t take effect until after the next update date.
