Reducing Number of Import Files

Hi all,

I am essentially working on a set of import files where the goal is to create a series of deals, each of which have multiple line items and each of which that should be associated to the relevant company and contact.

I currently have it down to 2 imports with 3 files, 1 being the deal creation with line item piece, the other being the deal association piece. However, because deal creation has to happen before the association, it will then require an extra step of exporting the deal ID's to build the association file.

I am giving this file to someone on the operations team and I would like to make it as straightforward as possible for them as they don't do a lot in HubSpot so the question is more around if there is a more efficent way to acheive the goal of uploading and creating a series of deals with associated line items and associated to the relevant company and contact?

@AJacob2 You can use an app called Hightouch to do this, either one time or on a recurring basis.  DM me if you would like to learn more. We are a HubSpot partner and a Hightouch partner, so can help you implement the solution.

@AJacob2 I only know of the Deal record ID as the unique identifier, therefore the import/export option you described is the only way I know of associating line items or other objects to Deals upon import. It's not the most efficient process, but it's accurate as far as I have seen.

Hi @danmoyle , thanks, I was hoping I was missing something obvious in terms of being able to do the association to line items and the other objects in 1 import, even if it was multiple files to avoid that extra step - I might add it to the idea forum.

I appreciate you taking the time to look at it!
