Page Section URLs for Navigation Menu

resolver

Hello,

I am new to HubSpot and just started creating a simple website. It is currently a single page website that has been created from a template (I believe it was the "Growth Oriented" template) . The template included a navigation menu that links down to specific sections within page when a menu item is clicked. It looks like the template was able to reference the different sections within the page using an external URL that is represented as a hashtag reference to one of the sections on the page.

Example: the "contact us" button is associated with the external URL "#contact" which is associuated with the contact form at teh bottom of the page.

My current challenge is that I've expanded the page to include more sections. I've been able to update the menu to include new headings and sub-headings for all of the updated and added sections. However, but I do not know how to find or edit the URL hashtag references that are associated with the new sections I've created so they can be assigned to the corresponding navigation menu items.

@AODonnell10 happy to help you get the menu updated. The hashtag menu items are called anchor links, the module should have a setting for the anchor links and then you would just need to update the menu to have the corresponding anchor link.

Without the theme in my account, I can't check how this is configured - if you still have trouble finding it, I'd be happy to jump on a call to sort through it together.

To link your new sections to the navigation menu in HubSpot, first, go to the page editor and find the ID for each new section you added (like "about" or "services"). If a section doesn’t have an ID, you can add one. Then, go to your navigation menu and update the menu items with the new section IDs (for example, "about"). After saving, clicking on the menu items will take users to the right sections on your page.

Hi Jennifer. I am struggling with this too. I have added anchors to and used # in the Top Navigational links but it is not working. Is the below wrong?

Hello and thank you for your answer here.

My issue is that I've labled the sections to work with the anchor links and they aren't working. The anchor link should navigate to the section of the page with that title but it isn't. I was able to make the blog anchor work, but I had to direct it to a different page. Am I doing something wrong? In another development environment, we had to tell it what section number the anchor should direct to. I'm not seeing that necessarily here.

Your help is appreciated.
