When I click on a task title, it redirects to the associated company of the task.
This does not suit our organisation. Indeed, we might have several deals open for the same company.
So when we open a task by clicking on the title, we arrive on the company page, with all the activities of the deals associated with this company, and it is quite a mess. Although they are associated with the same company, these deals have nothing to do with each other, and should not be mixed up.
For us, it would be much more useful to open the task and to be redirected to the associated deal.
Is there any way to achieve this? Thanks in advance and happy new year 🙂
@ChristelleH that's a really good find. In my testing, if there are associated contacts, the task takes me to one of the contacts. If none, it takes me to the company as you stated. Either way it's not taking me to the deal where I careatred the task.
I'm not aware of a place to change that. If I were in your shoes, I'd contact HubSpot Support first, then add this to the Ideas Forum here . HubSpot product managers monitor those ideas for improvements and updates.
Sorry I didn't have a better "here's where you fix that" answer!

Thats not a solution but a workaround imo. Especially when you want to use the 'start # tasks'-button efficiently. Another workaround is to not associate the taks to the contact, but it still would be great to be able to set a default of opening the task on deals, since this would probably be the most important for most companies.
I checked a second time, and it's actually different. I got confused because I was trying multiple things at once.
The tasks that go directly to the deal record are the tasks that are not associated to a company or contact at all, but only to the corresponding deal.
When creating the task (i.e. in a workflow), you can remove all associations to other objects. When you do this the task should directly go to the deal.
Let me know if this works for you aswell, I got it working but still have to deduce the actual steps to reproduce it for others.
Hi @JVermunt as my first comment states, I am aware of not including contacts or companies to a task. To me this is not really an acceptable workaround, since we want to know all interactions with these companies and contactpersons as well. It would be great to be able to make a "primary" association or set the deafault opening to deals.

What I have done with my colleagues is that we changed the display of the columns when you are on the "Tasks" page. We added a column "Associated deal" and when we want to open the deal associated with a task, we click on the title of the deal in the column "Associated deal", instead of clicking on the title task, as I described in my first post.
