Multiple Layer Approval Process

Hi all,

We have a customer that requires a 2 step approval process.

We added a manual step to the workflow that combines a Deal property and a task.

Unfortunately I can only add a event based delay using either a quote property change or a previous workflow action - I used the "task marked as complete" as the trigger for the WF to continue to final approval.

The customer now thinks 2 clicks (changing the deal property and marking the task as complete) is too much.

Has anyone come up with another or better solution?

Tks!

Multiple Layer Approval Process

Hi @karstenkoehler yes.

So these are the steps:

- Sales rep creates quote and submits for approval

- Workflow is triggered with branches:

   1 . Check Profit Center
2 - Check Quote abount (above or below 100K)
3 - If above 100K it has 2 levels of approval

These 2 levels of approval include a manual one (L3) and a final one using the quote approval button (L2)

Steps involved in the manual process (L3):

  1. A task is created for the assigned Level 3 approver to review the quote

  2. After review:

    1. If approved:

      1. the approver will set the “Approved Level 3” Deal property to YES and mark the above task as completed.

      2. A new task is then created for L2 Approver to review and approve quote

    2. If rejected

      1. A task will be created for the Quote owner to review the quote and re-submit for approval

      2. After re-submission the process resumes in step 1 above

Does this help? Thanks for looking into it.

Multiple Layer Approval Process

Hi @CateDuarte,

Could you explain in a bit more detail, zoomed out, what exactly the approval is for, who approves what, what shouldn't be possible before approval etc?
