I realise that you can set automatic company generation from contacts. That does not work for us because we are not B to B, but B to C. So we don't want new companies generated from client contacts. Our companies are partners to help deliver solutions.
When we add a new partner, we do want to generate a company.
Is it possible to generate the new company from the client domain on a case by case basis without having to type in the domain?
With this feature turned off entirely, you could use a domain inclusion list and a workflow that creates these company records automatically. However, other contacts with the same domain or future contacts wouldn't be associated automatically with the new company record.
In other words, you're likely better off keeping the feature turned on and setting up exclusions and/or deleting the occasion company record.
Let me know if you have any follow up questions!

Thanks. Even that is messy if i have reps adding contacts or I add a group of contacts at once.
It would be good if the menu for adding a company from the contact had an option for adding the domain automatically from the contact's email address instead of copy and pasting. I'm talking about on an individual basis when it is needed. For now I will just use the copy paste from the partner's email address when required.
