Looking for tips on how to manage my deals and leads

Hi new to the sales process... looking for tips on how to manage leads vs. deals, were previously being managed in click up . How to automate for slow moving sales.

Some practical tips/recommendations below from experience:

  • Leads vs. Deals: Define each clearly and stay consistent, for example:
    • Leads are new contacts who’ve shown interest but haven’t been qualified yet.
    • Deals are confirmed sales opportunities that are actively being worked.
    • Keep separate stages for each (e.g Leads: New > Contacted > Converted > Disqualified) and Deals (Discovery > Proposal > Won/Lost etc)
  • Automate follow-ups: Set triggers for inactivity (e.g no activity in 14 days → send check-in email or create follow-up task).
  • Re-engage slow deals: If a deal stalls, move it to a “Nurture” stage and enroll it in a re-engagement email flow.
  • Track key metrics: Monitor conversion rates, deal velocity, time in stage to spot bottlenecks to optimise around
