Last name

Our forms have a single field for name. Is there in option in HubSpot to detect that there is no last name field and parse the full name accordingly?

I do not believe that this is a function. You might have to do this via excel.

You can download your list and use the text to columns feature to split up first and last name and re-upload with the email address and first, last name fields and it will update for you.

Ideally you'll be able to adjust your form and collect both the first and last name and map accordingly.

I doubt that we are the only ones having this issue. Seems like HubSpot product management should take it under consideration. It would take less time to implement than we took in this discussion.

Unfortunately there are a lot of variables when using a single text field. 

• People with a first name like "Mary Ann"
• People with a last name like "Van Damme"
• People that use a middle initial
• People that use a prefix such as Dr.
• People that use suffix such as Sr.
• ...and any variation of the above
