Is it possible to hyperlink to a email for a contact?

Hi

We are tracking emails sent to contacts through Hubspot, but I'll like to create a URL to a specific email / email thread so I can link through to a conversation from our intranet.

Is there a way to view a specific email / email thread with a URL? At the moment, I can link to the contact, but there doesn't seem to be a way to go to a specific email for the contact.

Short Ans: No.

Longer Ans: No and yes, but it will not solve for all cases.

No. HubSpot one-to-one emails may be STORED on the activity timeline for HubSpot contacts. However, those emails are not SENT by HubSpot. As such, there is no HubSpot URL by which to access one-to-one emails.

Yes. Some email clients and email service providers (ESPs) allow linking directly to email messages. However, this is a feature of your email client/ESP -- not HubSpot.

Finally, if you're referring to HubSpot (one-to-many) Marketing Emails, this is built-in (optional) functionality.

Thanks, but that's a shame though.

HubSpot is a very useful way of keeping track of communications with contacts without CCing/BCCing other team members. However, it's still useful to be able to reference specific threads for later use so that if a team member who wasn't on the original mail thread wants to go back and look at a specific communication, they can do so.

Without being able to identify a mail thread, a team member needs to go to the contact's mails and scroll through the whole lot.

Clearly the emails have internal IDs because they can be pinned to the top of the email list - my hope was that they could be viewed based on this ID.

Agreed. Maybe try suggesting in the Ideas Forum. Not sure how much traction it will get, but can't hurt to try.
