We recently published a book and have been sending it out to some of our prospects. I need to track who we send the book to, so I was thinking of just adding a custom field to the Contact record, e.g. Sent Book (Yes/No).
I'm just curious if there is a better way to this using workflows or sequences. For example, assigning a task to someone (to send the book), then auto-following-up with an email in a 5 days to verify they received it, then in a couple weeks send them an email with some additional material, etc.
The custom property on the contact record is probably the easiest solution, yes.
But, if email reporting and analytics is of importance when sending the book... You can create a campaign, a static list, and manually enroll people in the list and campaign when it's appropriate to email the book to them.
Of course, if you would rather bulk email then an active list would work better.
