How to lock a property from being overwritten?

Sarah_M

Hi all!

I'm a previous Marketo user, current Hubspot user, and in Marketo we have the option to "lock a property", i.e. disallow the property from being overwritten by ANYTHING -- API, form submission, CRM integration, whatever (unless an admin does it).

My question is: how do I replicate this in Hubspot? For example, I want to keep my First Conversion property and my MQL Date property from EVER being overwritten/updated.

Thanks so much!

Hi @Sarah_M, this is Grant!

You are now able to set the permissions for properties.

It would be nice if this was an option. Even for bulk upload situations.
We like to use Personas to catagorize our leads and clients but we want to make sure our clients are always 'tagged' with the Active Client Persona-- but other personas can be edited so the editing user persmissions doesnt help us in this situation. (unless someone suggests another way to do this).

Hiya

This is only available as an option in Enterprise Hub - is there any sor tof workaround for those of us using Sales Hub Pro?

Thanks

Katy

There's a way of stopping the field being updated via forms and bots, but I'm not sure you can stop team members who aren't admins from changing individual fields.

I'd be interested to know this for sure too. It's not come up as an issue for me yet.

How do you block the property from being overwritten by forms and bots?
