How to add contacts manually to Newsletter List

Hi Community, 

I have a newsletterlist, sometimes people reach out and want to be manually added to the newsletter? Can we do this manually without any filters or stuff? Or do we have to send them a form? 

In general it is interesting for me to create lists and add them manually without any filters or so?

Hi @FMieke,

That depends on your newsletter list filters. If it's set up correctly, it should filter for subscription opt-in. If it does, you can add a contact to that list (indirectly) by:

• Opting them into the subscription type: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/records/manage-your-subscription-preferences-and-types
•  [if you have double opt-in enabled] Update double opt-in status: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/marketing-email/set-up-double-opt-in-for-emails#send-opt-in-email-to-i...

If you're unsure, please share your list filters as a screenshot.

Keep in mind however that these instructions disregard consent considerations.

Thanks for the explanation, Karten! That fixed my problem. Is there any way to add people to a list without creating new fields and filter by them?

@FMieke yes, the instructions from my previous reply would not entail the creation of additional fields. These are all default fields.
