How can you change fields and permissions for a custom imported list of contacts?

Hi,
I'm having trouble creating a process for a particular issue I'm having. My company has two CRMs, as one generates important information for our industry. Just moving to hubspot isn't possible.
When a contact wants to change their marketing permission, this is updated in the other CRM. I am trying to design an easy process, where a bulk list of clients can be sent to a workflow and their contact details are updated.
The part I have trouble with, is ensuring that the lists of the clients whose details need changing is sent to the workflow. Can you help?

Hi Karsten, yes I'm happy with that part of the process. My query is how to get the custom list of contacts I have correctly uploaded to hubspot so that these fields and marketing permissions are correctly updated.
Should I re-import the clients? I can't seem to import clients to an existing list. Will I have to change the list the workflow uses every month?
In an active list, you can add new imports via import membership, list membership. In a static list, you can bulk add contacts, as explained in the article above.
