Field "Status" in Contacts - no marketing mails?

解決

I was wondering whether the field "Status" (with the options active and inactive) has more functions. Usecase: a contact is no longer available, but we don't want to delete it due to its history. If i put it on "inactive" would it automatically taken out of my marketing mails or would I have to filter that? I could not find any documentation about that field.

Field "Status" in Contacts - no marketing mails?

Hi @tbernau

The Contact Status field is used to store "the status of the contact's content membership" and is related to audience access to Hubspot hosted pages. The property is discussed in this article: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/contacts/hubspots-default-contact-properties

As such this field isn't suitable for your use case.

If the contact is still considered a lead you could create a Lead Status stage of inactive and use that in a list to be included or excluded in your marketing emails. If they aren't considered a lead you could create a custom contact property to flag contacts as Inactive and filter as above. Otherwise, if you want to keep the record but not send them email you could manually opt them out by adding them to a list and importing this as an opt-out list.
