Exploring HubSpot as a Tool for DNP Project Help, Tracking, and Management

Hi everyone,

I’m currently in the process of polishing a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) project for my client, and while most people recommend academic tools or nursing-focused project trackers, I keep wondering if there’s a smarter, more visual way to manage the entire process.

HubSpot came to mind as a project intelligence hub.

Think about it:

• Tracking project phases through pipelines instead of spreadsheets.

• Using dashboards to visualize progress, survey results, or outcome measures.

• Automating reminders for data collection points or stakeholder updates.

As someone who values evidence-based practice, I’m intrigued by how HubSpot’s CRM and reporting capabilities might support academic project management—especially for large-scale, data-driven initiatives like a DNP capstone.

Has anyone here experimented with adapting HubSpot for research or healthcare improvement projects? I’d love to hear how you’ve customized workflows, fields, or dashboards to fit non-marketing goals, particularly in education, healthcare, or program evaluation.

Sometimes, the tools designed for business insights might be the very thing we need to make academic data and outcomes more actionable.

Hi @Sam-DNPEditor,  HubSpot is a pretty flexible platform and could definitely be tailored for DNP project management.

You could use Deals to track project phases in a pipeline view, customizing stages to reflect your project milestones. Then create custom properties for data points like survey results and outcome measures. The custom Dashboards can visualize progress with reports on these properties. The task feature may be the most useful piece. You could automate tasks and reminders for data collection and stakeholder updates via HS workflows.

There are a lot of possibilities and different ways to tackel... If you haven't already, I'd recommend mapping out all your processes. From there it becomes easier to think about how Hubspot can manage/automate these processes for you.
