Deal amounts based on volume / usage based product

SOLVE

Hello,

We offer a Pay as you go pricing model. We use the Quote tool to quote a price for each service. For example:

Service A: £20

Service B: £10

We then bill month in areas based on consumptions.

I have created a custom prop called Estimated monthly Volume where reps select a volume they expect to be consumed.

Questions:

When creating a deal they select the Estimated Monthly Volume. is there anyway to make this the Default Deal value rather than Ammount?

Would it make sence to have Amount calculated based on estimated Volume?

Does anyone use Hubspot for Usage based pricing and what is your process?

Thanks!

Thanks for your question.  Do you have Operations Hub?

I suggest using a workflow to update the amount accordingly, or you can use a calculated field that then is rolled up to the amount or value (unsure what field this is, is it custom?).

You could also build an app card that runs a serverless function, creates this on the Deal, and pulls in consumption amounts.  Then you can make a comparison between the original estimated amount and the actual consumption amount.

This is not new but depends on how you want to visualize the information, use the information, or share the information with those in HubSpot. The thought is around which people in your organization need to see it and how the information needs to be used.

Feel free to contact me directly if you want me to look further into this with you.

Deal amounts based on volume / usage based product

Hi @SamBlakeman hope you are doing well.

Its very common for customers that have a fixed fee + a variable fee

to have the deal amount updated once the variable part is defined.

So I'd make sense to have an automated process (with Ops hub or with 3rd party tools like Zapier)

to calculate the amount of the deal once Estimated Volume is set and update the deal.

This is very common for Logistics companies, insurance, or even any company when shipping costs are added once order is confirmed.

Hope this helps.
