Copying single line property values from Country object property to dropdown list

SOLVE

Hello,

I wanna copy the values under Company object in "Country" single line field to a new dropdown Country property under Company object.

Do you know what is the best practise for this?

Thank you,

Hi @06401,

This is unfortunately not possible directly, see here: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/workflows/compatible-source-and-target-properties-for-copying-property...

In other words, a workflow will not be of help here.

One way to get the information across easily is exporting your company records with the single line text property – then simply re-importing the value into the dropdown property. Make sure the values match exactly, otherwise HubSpot will throw an error.

Also, during the import process make especially sure to map the record ID. Otherwise you run the risk of creating company duplicates.

Best regards!

Thank you Karstan. That means we no longer use Hubspot Insight feature for Country (single line) field, right?

If you do, @06401, you'd have to repeat this process above every once in a while, correct.
