Is there a HubSpot-y method to report PDF views, akin to Gogle Analytics 'Events' that would allow me to summarize how many of each PDF was viewed (links clicked) or downloaded for a given period?
Also in marketing hub, you can measure things like form submissions (to get to the file) or CTA cliskcs (which redirect to the PDF). Those would ways I'd track how many people are interacting with my PDF downloads.
Thanks!

William - although your above post is old, check out relayto. Users upload their PDFs to the relayto platform, and each PDF page is converted to it's own web page with engagement analytics on the back end. Does that address your issue?

Collecting PDF view metrics
lösung
Tracking PDF view metrics can significantly enhance our understanding of user engagement. One effective method is integrating tracking tools within the PDF itself. By embedding links or using UTM parameters, you can gather valuable insights into how users interact with your content. Additionally, converting Excel files to PDF can streamline the process of sharing data, making it more accessible. For those looking to convert their Excel sheets efficiently, I recommend checking out this useful resource Using these strategies can provide clearer metrics and improve overall content performance.
Hi Dan - Could I create a hubspot tracked URL driving to a PDF URL that is hosted on my company's public drive? This would be hosted on an external (drupal) site.
PDFs can be difficult to reliably track. Clicking a link to a PDF tells the browser to navigate from the web page to the PDF. Often this happens so quickly that there isn't enough time for the tracking code to fire and record the event / CTA (whatever tool you are using).
In the past I have coded in delays, used an "interstitial" page, or tools like issuu.com.

Our Sales team is glommed onto MSDynamics 😢, so that tool isn't available (yet). I deliver collaterals from the file manager.
Upvoted! Thanks.
I pass the filename and title in the requesting URL to the form and HubL, but that's only really useful for review of individual contacts; nothing aggregated.
@wmflan39 bummer - I know the feeling of disconnected systems. I hope you find a solution here or the team sees the value in HubSpot vs. Dynamics.
You could maybe make a tracking URL in HubSpot for each PDF hosted in HS, then send it to the sales folks. Super manual and convoluted, but may help with some tracking. Wish I had an "easy button" for you!
