Hi Traci,

Yes, we can manage both platforms with configuration as CommercePro is integrated with Stipe Elements. Would you like to see a demo?

Commerce Hub and Shopify have very different user cases. I'd summarise Commerce Hub as a set of tools HubSpot customers can leverage to enable sales to convert purchase invent into revenue. Without considerable CRM integration work, Shopify is limited in its ability to support sales with this process.

At this point, Commerce Hub doesn't include what you would traditionally call eCommerce functionality, sold inventory, shopping cart, discount codes, etc. Until recently, customers needing eCommerce stores and shopping functionality have had to, as your question points to, set up separate platforms and integrate these platforms back into HubSpot. There is obvious pain with these integrations, which you may have experienced, particularly for B2B customers where eCommerce is part of the sales process, rather than as it is in B2C an additional model or function.

If you're looking for a solution that arguments Commerce Hub and provides eCommerce natively in HubSpot I recommend CommercePro.co. CommercePro is a fully featured eCommerce solution that deploys natively on HubSpot. This means customers no longer need third-party eCommerce platforms for commerce on HubSpot.

Thanks for sharing @boydwason

A question that has come up in the Community: What are the cases for and against using Commerce Hub vs Shopify?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this!

Cheers

Thanks Mai,

I don't believe it's a case of either or. They each have quite different tool sets and provide solutions for different market segments.

Commerce Hub is your go-to for B2B or B2C businesses selling lower volume (direct) high-value goods and services (including subscriptions). It helps sales convert payment intent into sold revenue. (this is a generalisation and my view please talk to sales about your requirements for an in-depth assessment).

Shopify is a fully-featured set of eCommerce tools primarily developed around the needs of B2C businesses for an online store. There is a free HubSpot developed integration (and a couple of third-party apps) available from the HubSpot Marketplace. These integrations enable you to operate basic marketing and sales functions in HubSpot.

For customers looking to unlock advanced commerce features, for example, a self-service sales portal for customers, you will probably find Shopify and the off the shelve integrations limited due to the inability to integrate with more complex sales processes. HubSpot CRM and Commerce Hub may be able to be configured to provide some of the functionality you need, but not the eCommerce and portal experience that B2B buyers are now expecting.

If you're in this situation, I'd recommend looking to implement CommercePro (CommercePro.co) alongside Commerce Hub. CommercePro is an application layer that deploys on HubSpot and enables customers to implement a fully featured e-commerce environment in HubSpot - no third-party platforms and integrations are required.

Hope this helps
