Changing marketing contact status in workflow after changing it previously
SOLVE
I agree with @GHorrocks . The initial form changes my Marketing status to "Marketing Contact" which I can't change manually or in a workflow. It's not an option and seems to be "locked" as it's greyed out.
Karsten, perhaps it lets you add this to the workflow because it's new? It's the initial or first property that sets the status. Until its saved and assigned to a contact perhaps it wont be able to be changed.

@DSahadat1 in the intial form you could set the new contact to non-marketing status, and then change to marketing conact after specific actions in a custom workflow (like filling out a different form, visiting the website X number of times, seeing a specific page, getting to a HubSpot score (lead score) of a speficied amount... those kinds of things.

Thank you @karstenkoehler - i will test this. Our integration agency informed me of the problem, which i found to be strange, which is why i wanted some other input before looking for solutions. Thanks

@GHorrocks is the workflow marking them as non-marketing overwriting the change to marketing contacts? Should the workflow only work for specific parameters and not allow re-enrollment?

Hi,
What you suggest works. However, I have been informed that once a contact has been through a workflow which sets them as 'non-marketing contact', they can then not be 'marked as marketing contact' again via another workflow. This was the problem i was trying to work around.
ie, contact has not engaged for some time. We mark them as 'non-marketing contact'. They rerurn some time later and purchase but we cannot mark them as maraketing contact again with a workflow.
Who told you this wasn't possible? Have you tested this and any reason to think it's not? Again, I just tested it to verify what I thought I knew before: it's working perfectly fine.
The feature is designed to do exactly that: Not pay for contacts that you don't want to communicate for a long time but "re-activate" them when you need to.
