Calculated field in Product properties

Hi there!

I've been looking around but cannot seem to find an exact answer. I am building products in HubSpot for rolls of material. The roles have a lenght and width and I want to auto calculate the m2 based on these two feilds i.e

Feild 1 - Width: 0.7m

Feild 2 - Length: 8.0m

Feild 3 - Square Meterage: [width] x [length]

Calculated properties seem greyed out when I go to select them, so I wondered if there was a solution or work around for this?

I have Marketing hub starter and Sales hub professional only.

I’m with hapily, a HubSpot App Partner, and we offer a HubSpot app called quote•hapily that supports calculated pricing for line items. The quote•hapily calculated pricing allows you to create several different types of formulas and apply them to line items. 

 

Once you have configured your calcualtions you will be able to enter in the values while editing the quote when adding line items and configuring your quote through the quote•hapily quote builder. This calculation will then apply to the line item's unit price.

This is really is needed @hubspot we have the same problem and sell exhibition space. So stand has a length and depth and need to work out total SQM. Our old platform did this and it's really not ideal we can't replicate it. I am sure there are others that would benefit from this. 

We can do this in deals but on a deal we may have 2 or more stands if booking for multiple years or 2 x regional events so it wouldn't really work. 

We would also ideally want to know yield. So in publishing the amount paid / page size = yield and with exhibitions the amount paid / total sqm = yield. 

Are there any plans to get this in future or even better is there something in beta? It really would be immensely useful!

Hi @mattjohnson068 ,

Calculated properties aren't possible on the Product object, unfortunately.

My only suggestion would be that you create a different product for each possible size for every individual roll of material - I appreciate that this could end up with a lot of products!

You can submit your feedback on the inability to create calculation properties on the Product object to the Ideas forum. This is where the HubSpot product team go to get product/feature update ideas so something may come of it.

calculated properties are available for PRO versions

as you mentioned you have Sales Pro, you should be able to create this properties in Deals.

Have you tried changing the object?

Ohh I see you are trying to create it in Products> this is not possible.

you can try to do this with Zapier maybe.
