Best practices email campaign
SOLVE
Hey everyone, do you have a "Don't do" list which what I have to avoid in creating our first email campaign?
Our company recently started using HubSpot as a CRM and we transferred (more like re-created) our website here from another platform. It's been good so far, and we are trying to utilize the tools available. We may be looking into being a solutions partner.
Highlighting my purpose of being here, we are working on using marketing tools such as the email marketing campaign. I have used other email marketing campaign platforms in the past but I am looking forward to learn the best practices you all have so our company's email campaigns can be successful such as yours. I would love to hear whatever this community has to share so I can learn the workaround here in HubSpot and be an expert in the near future.
Given your experience with other email marketing platforms, here are some best practices to ensure success with your first email campaign using HubSpot:
Utilize Segmentation: Send targeted emails by segmenting your contact list. Tailor your messages to specific audience segments to enhance engagement.
Personalize Your Emails: Use personalization tokens to address recipients by their first name and customize the content based on their preferences and behavior for a more personalized experience.
Optimize for Mobile: Ensure your emails are mobile-friendly. Design responsive emails that look great on all devices to reach users wherever they are.
Conduct Thorough Testing: Test your emails before sending them out. Utilize HubSpot’s A/B testing features to experiment with different subject lines, content, and send times to determine what resonates best with your audience.
Maintain a Balanced Email Frequency: Respect your contacts' inboxes by finding the right balance in email frequency. Send emails consistently but avoid overwhelming your audience.
Leverage Data and Analytics: Regularly review your email performance metrics in HubSpot. Use the data to understand what’s working, identify areas for improvement, and adjust your strategy accordingly.
Use Verified Email Lists: Build and use verified email lists. Ensure your contacts have opted in to receive your emails to maintain a healthy sender reputation and reduce bounce rates.
Implement Opt-In Processes: Obtain explicit permission from your contacts to send them emails. Use double opt-in where appropriate to confirm their subscription and ensure high-quality lists.
Adhere to Compliance Regulations: Comply with email marketing laws like GDPR and CAN-SPAM. Include necessary elements such as a clear unsubscribe link and your physical mailing address in every email.
Keep Your Design Simple: Design clean and focused emails. Avoid cluttered layouts and make sure your call-to-action (CTA) is clear and easy to find.
Prioritize Content Quality: Ensure each email provides value to the recipient, whether through useful information, special offers, or engaging content. Send emails with a purpose.
Craft Compelling Subject Lines: Write engaging and relevant subject lines to encourage opens. Avoid generic or misleading subject lines to maintain trust and interest.
Plan Follow-Up Emails: Develop a series of follow-up emails to nurture your leads and keep your audience engaged. Consistent communication helps build relationships and drive conversions.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Best regards

Hi @JSiglos Did your company recreate a new website in HubSpot using the "drag and drop editor?" I'm just curious about what may be the advantages or reasoning to not use the original website. The only reason I can think of would be to have everthing connected in 1 place, but I would be nervous about disrupting SEO for my site. Just curious to find options that I may consider in the future for my site or for businesses that I may consult as a marketing consultant.
I'd love to put you in touch with our Top Experts: Hi @danmoyle, @andrus and @HubSpot_Corey do you have tips and/or best practices to share with @JSiglos regarding email campaigns, please?
Also, if anybody else has anything to add and/or share, please feel free to join in the conversation 🙂
