We have the automation setting that associate contacts with companies turned off. Our CRM is salesforce and at present we do not want Hubspot to create new account records. The only contacts asscociating with companies are salesforce contact records. Lead records are siloed.
My question, is there any way, like a workflow or some dev work where I can automate contact to company associations without turning on that setting?
Not with Hubspot. Once you make that connection with Salesforce you should be looking on that end to do the association as that will link up in Hubspot when things are tied together. I would recommend having a look into LeanData on the Salesforce side to do this matching.
If you are trying to make the associations of contacts and companoes w/o turning automation settings on, you can do by following ways.
- Import both the object with excel file - API (only exixting ones will be joined) - Workflow- Create company record on specific action.( New one can be created)
Hey @elisestieren! I'm part of the team, hapily, that built and supports Associ8 which handles automatic associations. While a custom-coded action can be a great option if you have Ops Hub Pro/Enterprise, it can also be time-consuming to implement and manage.
With Associ8, no technical/coding knowledge is needed and it can be set up rather easily. Here is an example workflow using Associ8 to create a Contact to Company association:
Tip: If you utilize Association Labels, you can also apply those labels using the Associ8 action.
Happy to answer and additional questions you may have! 😁
