Automated email to lost deals

SOLVE

Hi Everyone,

Apologies if this isnt the right location. Before the question let me explain the use case; In our business it is common to have multiple open deals in hubspot for a company. We can have a deal for a certain product or service and then a few months later have a deal with the same company for a different product line, and often we will win one deal and lose another.

I would like to have an automated workflow email that will go out when a deal is lost after a certain period of time, HOWEVER, I only want this email to go out if we have never "won" their business. So if there are two deals associated to that company, one won, and one lost, I do not want this automated email to go to the client. I only want it to go out to clients that we have no won deals with. I cannot seem to find a filter or trigger setting in HS that accomodates this.

Does anyone have any thoughts or tips?

Thank You,

Hi @BButterfield,

This should be pretty straight forward 🙂

First, you would create a company-based list of contacts that are associated with any deal that is closed won:

Then, in a deal-based workflow you would specify your closed lost date range and exclude deals which are associated to a company on this list:

You would adjust the deal stage and the 14 day period to your needs.

Sounds like it could be done with active lists. The thing you would need to define is the closed won period. Since you mention it could be months in between, at which point would you want to send vs. not send, and it might be worth defining what is an active customer as well because if you won their business are they a customer forever or do they eventually drop back into the cycle at some point.
