Hi there. I am researching CRMs, and I need a tool that allows us to assign leads to our customers. For example, I will have inbound emails that must be attached to each customer.
Can I somehow manage such a parent-child relationship in Hubspot? It's not really a company-to-subcompany scenario...
The ideas shared by Mia are great and the most probable ways to go about what you are looking to achieve. To add to them, you can use the custom property you create to add those customers to a list or if you have the feature, you can put those customers on a team in your HubSpot, so they are better segmented and managed that way.
Great HubSpot Gems 💎 and follow up questions you shared @MiaSrebrnjak.
@AByrd24 great question and while we look forward to your response to get more clarity on your specific use case, you mentioned custom objects sounded like a great 1st step.
Note that custom properties as mentioned in the previous replies are different from custom objects.
Custom objects, an enterprise feature of Hubspot, can have custom properties of their own as defined by you, while Custom properties can be created to gather specific data on any existing HubSpot Stardard Objects such as Contacts, Companies, Deals etc.
Can you share more context about the Goal(s) you would need to achieve in the process of assigning leads to your customers? Do you need just one way notification to update your customers about leads or would you want to track feedback about how your customers are handling the leads sent to them?

Would your customers need access to these leads in your CRM? Or will this just be used for internal tracking? If it's just internal, you could consider using a custom property that contains a list of your customers. When a new lead is created in the CRM, you could assign a customer by choosing an option/customer from the list in the custom property.
Thank you so much for your reply! The custom object sounds like a great first step, allowing customers access to the leads would be the cherry on the cake!
It's possible to give your customers access to your HubSpot account by adding them as users, but you would probably have to limit their permissions substantially so they only see the contacts/leads they're assigned to.
What information about the leads do your customers need? Email address, telephone number, or should they also have the option to create deals or leave notes for you on the lead's contact record?
Let's also invite a couple of subject matter experts to see if they have additional ideas:
