can't connect domain - how to get Hubspot assistance?

Hi!  Had a old hubspot account linked to a domain, andit expired in Feb. Trying to get things moving along again, and I can't connect the domain as it says someone else has already done so.

I've seen the support message where it says to contact support with details to have Hubspot release the domain on the backend, but it appears creating a post is the only way to do so? Should I enter the information here, or is there a less public way to communicate with hubspot to have this resolved?

Hello @MCole4

You can reach Hubspot support via this form to ask them to temporarily reactivate your account and help you release the domain.

Hi @MCole4,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community!

Free accounts will be deactivated after 120 days of inactivity, which includes not logging in or using the HubSpot Sales extension. Following deactivation, you have 90 days to reactivate the account before it is permanently purged and cannot be recovered.

For example, if your account was deactivated in February 2025, you would still have the option to reactivate it within the 90-day window. Once reactivated, you can disconnect the domain. This will "free up" the domain, allowing you to connect it to your current account.

If you are unable to resolve this on your own, please let me know, and I will follow up with you directly.

Thanks!

Diana

When I go there, it's essentially saying since I am on a free plan, my only options for support are the knowledge base and community.  There's not a way for me to 'ask' Hubspot to complete this (as they have to be the ones to do it) except through this forum, as far as I can tell.
