Website changing positions in Google search. Also cookie banner and Hubspot logo not appearing

SOLVE

Hi there hope you are well.

My Dad’s website seems to change position in certain keyword searches on Google within minutes (sometimes).

His website is: www.nobregarealty.com

Today I searched Google for the following keywords: “madeira real estate” and it seems to change position sometimes and sometimes it disappears from that search result altogether.

Furthermore sometimes the cookie banner doesn’t appear and the hubspot logo doesn’t appear. Today that only happened when visiting my Dad’s website on firefox in private mode (the cookie banner and logo issue) (but the keyword issue comes up regardless of browser type or mode (private or not)).

I am worried if someone hacked my Dad’s site or if there is some serious problem with it. Could you please help me resolve the problem.

Hey,

Honestly I wouldn't worry about it. Did you try refreshing the page in private mode where it didn't load? It doesn't matter if you waited, it could have had the service ended.

Either way, the site looks fine on my end on multiple devices, I think it may be just a quirk.

@RNobrega Just checked too and your website looks fine. Google has experienced a lot of updates these past 3 months with a lot of volatility in keywords/rankings as a result. As for the cookie banner, you may want to explore free options that work well with Hubspot, and are better than the native solution especially when it comes to GDPR. Hope this helps!

Website changing positions in Google search. Also cookie banner and Hubspot logo not appearing

SOLVE

Hey there!

So, the HubSpot banner will only show if you're also logged into HubSpot at the time. Most likely you weren't logged in. Edit: wrong logo, it looks like in the 2nd screenshot it just didn't load. It took a second on my end for it to load.

The cookie banner won't show again if you've already chosen options in it. If you use a new browser or incognito or a new PC/phone, then it'll show again.

Now, for the searches, there's a few things that are going on there. First, you're competing with anyone else paying for that keyword and/or trying to rank for it. Searches are also locally-based and changing positions like that is normal. That's why it's better to use an SEO tool to check for average positioning instead of manually doing it.

TLDR; I doubt the site was hacked, I think there's just a confluence of things happening there!

Hi ashleyidesign thank you for responding to me. The first screenshot was taken with firefox in normal mode and I did not opt-in to cookies there.

And the second screenshot was taken in firefox in private mode, and I did not opt-in to cookies there too.

The issue with the logo only happened when I was in firefox in private mode and the correct logo did not load. I left that instance of firefox open for a long time but it didn't load.

Furthermore the cookie banner also didn't appear in that instance of firefox (and I did not opt-in for cookies there) (the cookie banner just didn't show up).

But when I was in firefox in normal mode everyting appeared correctly.

Do you think that the problem is with firefox private mode?

Should I be worried about this?

Many thanks

Kind regards
