How can you create a report that shows the ticket's open over time, by day? For example, yesterday we had 46 total tickets and today we had 48 total tickets.
Rather than see (2 new tickets), we'd like to see a graph that shows the incline or decline in total open tickets, by day, and by week/month/year.
However, tickets that were opened in past months are now closed, but would've counted towards the "Open Tickets" at that time, that month.
Currently, in the report you mentioned, you are displaying the total of tickets per status. To display the total of ticket that was assigned the status for the month, you'd need to have a date property for each status so you can display it within the visualization.
Natively, we don't have a date property for each status. You can customize a date property and use a workflow to set a date stamp whenever the status changes so you can save it, and then select it in your report to display the results.
As you don't have a custom date property for each status, you would have the option to select the existing date properties for the Ticket such as create date. See the GIF attached with the instructions on how to include a date property and organize it in monthly frequency.
After that, you have the option to select the chart settings and choose, for example, a combination chart. This allows you to visualize the incline or decline comparison more graphically.
Thanks,
Diana
