Report on customers who created their first ticket in the month

SOLVE

Apologies if this has been asked but I could not find it anywhere or figure out the correct fields in a custom report.
I am wanting to have a report that will show me how many contacts created their first service ticket during a certain period of time (monthly). Is there a way to do this through custom reports?

Hi @MG15,

Reporting on this is surprisingly complicated. HubSpot doesn't keep track of whether a record is a first or a last.

You can set this up going forward by creating a contact-based workflow that sets the value of a custom date properyt (e.g. "First ticket submission date") to the date of the stap when Number of associated tickets is 1. ("Number of associated tickets" is also a custom property you would have to create using calculation properties, see here.)

Historically, you could populate this date by exporting contact and ticket information and performing some Excel magic. The idea would be to identify the earliest Create date of a ticket for each contact and then import this Create date into First ticket submission date into the associated contact.
