Possible to use the hubspot add-on for gmail, but with outlook for mac as your mail client?

SOLVE

Using new Outlook for Mac + Google Workspace Email

Mainly for mail tracking purposes. I still mainly use a browser instead of apps like Apple Mail or Outlook when I want to use hubspots connected inbox feature for mail tracking.

I've connected my google workspace email to outlook and enabled the microsoft sync/cloud feature, which allows you to enable add-ons like hubspot, but when trying to authenticate, it thinks I am logged in with an O365 account (because of the sync/cloud enablement)

I think the other work-around is to add the bcc, but I'm looking for the native automatic solution.

Is this still not possible?

Thanks

Hey @mlouka If you're using outlook as your mail client it's somewhat irrelevant if you're using google as your login/mail handler from the HubSpot sales plugin perspective.

It's important to note that the sales extension doesn't "plug in" to your email service provider. It connects to your mail client, so regardless of your mailbox provider it is entirely dependent on what happens in the client you use to receive/send mail on your device.

A good example of this is I have a mac for work where I just use gmail on my browser, my personal PC I have the same email send emails to my outlook client and I have previously used apple mail also to receive mail for this. It's all the same email, same domain and same services, however different "viewing" platforms.

What HubSpot does is connect the "platform" to your HubSpot account and add information to the email depending on your settings. For example if you log the email, it just automatically adds in the bcc address, if you're tracking it, it just automatically embeds the tracking pixel. It doesn't connect to your mail server.

To cut a long story short, regardless of your mail servers, outlook for mac is not supported at all. If this is crucial for you however it might be worth looking into something like crossover for mac to run windows programs almost like natively on your mac! It can take a bit of fiddling to set up but I have a few windows only programs that work like a mac app for me from it.

I have the exact same question...not sure why it's "not supported," given that there is a hubspot-offered plugin for outlook. Seems to require an O365 mailbox though and is not about to work with my Gmail I guess.
