I'm trying to setup a bi-directional HubSpot ticket to clickup task. Where if a client submits a HubSpot ticket from our client portal, and we move it to a specific stage, then it creates a clickup task to assign the internal team to work on. In turn, when the clickup task hits a specific project stage, it syncs back to HubSpot with a status update.
is this possible? From the documentation, a clickup task can update a ticket, but how does it know what ticket to update if there isn't a connection. And I've managed to trigger HubSpot ticket to create a clickup task, but i cant go back the other way around.
this is a lot easier for deal details, but for a very odd reason, not for tickets.
Hey there @mohamedhamad. I checked in with my colleague (my boss, actually) Juli. She's our ClickUp guru at Imulse Creative. Her response was essentially: "The short answer is you'll likely need a third party app like Unito. The longer answer is that this is something you'd have to build with a little help because it's not a simple toggle to turn."
That's what I found.

So i've followed all the instructions and read all the documentation. It also now seems like the trigger to create a task from a ticket is no longer available for some reason. the option to add a clickup integration in a workflow only works from a deal based workflow. and not a ticket based workflow anymore. the only created late last year is still available and functioning but i'm afraid it might stop working soon.
while the documentation says there is a bi-directional link between task and ticket, and that a clickup task can be created from a ticket status change, it doesnt seem like that option is available.
if anyone has any experience with this, some guidance would be much appreciated.

thanks for the response. i thought so, and was hoping this would be simpler than what i'm experiencing. Deal based automations with ClickUp are pretty simple and straight forward. I was hoping ticket based ones would be the same. Alas, we can dream.
@mohamedhamad I've only used the integration for deals, so not much more to add than what @danmoyle could find...
However, I would suggest providing feedback to Clickup Support (since they developed the integration) so you can make sure it's working as expected.
The app says there is bidirectional flow between tasks and tickets:
And if Support can't help, I would also recommend writing a review of the integration - it looksl like many others haven't been very happy with the limitations and there's an opportunity for them to improve.

The bi-directional data flow icons are very misleading. We ended up developing a custom full sync between the platforms since the integration is missing so much.
It's definitely a difficult process. The customization options on ClickUp (and even HubSpot to a degree) make it a process to map everything correctly.
I understand that you're looking to establish a bi-directional integration between HubSpot tickets and ClickUp tasks, allowing seamless communication between the two platforms. I appreciate your efforts in exploring the documentation and setting up the initial connections.
Based on your description, it seems like you've successfully triggered the creation of a ClickUp task from a HubSpot ticket, but you're facing challenges with the reverse process—updating the HubSpot ticket when the ClickUp task reaches a specific stage.
To address this, it's crucial to ensure that the integration is bidirectional, allowing both platforms to communicate effectively. I want to share some helpful resources:
